They have lost their homes and places of work. I ask that, if you are able, to please help Guanica's people and it's neighboring towns by donating to reputable charity organizations. It breaks my heart to say that my parents home is no longer safe to live in. On January 6th, and 7th, two earthquakes caused great damage on the town. The emergency situation is far from over as the earth still shakes dozens of times a day with no end in sight.
Thankfully many of the residents, including my parents, are currently, physically unharmed, although the emotional toll is massive. The lovely, sleepy town where I grew up in and where my parents still live in. The epicenter of most of them being in the town of Guánica.my hometown.
