I bought it here on Calguns intending to get back into hunting with it but my wife fronted the money for a Winchester featherweight with scope for Christmas so the Remington is redundant. Comes with a Lee die set and 50 Savage cases. Remaining metal finish is about 85 to 90% with some scratches here and there. The recoil pad is a replacement since the previous one had turned to rock. The wood is scratched but not gouged, no cracks. The M14 clips worked for me when I had a short-lived fling with one of these. Original Remington stripper clips have attained 'collector' status. I found that a Springfield clip works pretty well for reloading. Kinda weird factoid: M14 stripper clips work for re-charging the magazines in Remington 81s. This rifle loads from the top with a 5 round clip similar to a Springfield stripper clip. The rifle quickly takes down into two assemblies (receiver/butt and barrel forearm) for storage or transportation. Nice condition Remington model 8 stripper clip. Another Obama proof semi auto rifle!
